Halfords Engine Paint Gloss Black 400ml
The Halfords Engine Paint Gloss Black 400ml is made for high-temperature components in your engine, with resistance up to 150°C for a durable finish.
The paint leaves your surfaces resistant to corrosion, petrol, chemicals, weather, and temperature fluctuations, for a robust engine that can handle the elements. It’s ideal for use on water cooled engines and other metal surfaces. (You should use Very High Temperature Paint for air-cooled engines, as these can get even hotter).
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
• To prevent accidental spraying, there’s a safety ring fitted to the can.
• Remove the nozzle and use a blunt screwdriver to remove this safety ring, ensuring you don’t damage the metal valve.
• Face the spray head away from you and replace the nozzle. (CAUTION: Paint may spray out of the nozzle when you do this)
The icons on the side of the can give you quick instructions on things like working temperature and drying times.
For best results, make sure the can is at room temperature before using it. Avoid spraying in direct sunshine, cold, damp, humid or windy weather. The recommended ambient temperature whilst painting is anywhere between +10° to +25°C.
After use, turn the can upside down and spray for around 3-5 seconds to clear the nozzle and prevent any blockages when you use it next.
Ensure you read the complete instructions and familiarise yourself with each step, and make sure you have all consumables you need to hand before you start to paint.
CAUTIONS:
For safety reasons, do not apply paint to anything other than the metal engine block or fixed metal components. Avoid paint going onto any hoses, seals, sensors, belts, pulleys, or any other vehicle components, mating surfaces or anything else that could affect the operation of the engine or vehicle.
*The drying time can change depending on the ambient temperature, humidity and the thickness of the coats applied. Ensure the paint is fully dry before moving onto the next stage.
Take care when preparing older paint surfaces (pre-1970) as these may contain harmful lead.
Make sure you have enough ventilation in the area you’re painting in to prevent a harmful build-up of solvent gasses.
