SustainabilityMichelin has embraced an "All-sustainable" approach in which growth is an equitable balance between human, economic and environmental issues. Michelin is committed to making its tyre division 100 per cent sustainable by 2050. Already today, nearly 30 per cent of the components used by Michelin in tyre production are derived from natural, recycled or other sustainable raw materials. History1889 Edouard Michelin takes over the rubber goods and agricultural machinery factory founded in 1832 by Aristide Barbier and Edouard Daubrée in Clermont-Ferrand and renames the company Michelin et Cie. MotorsportMichelin uses motorsport as a technological test-bed for its tyres. Michelin has developed its tyres with know-how gained from Motor racing including in the past F1 and Formula e. Its current involvement includes being the tyre of choice for teams competing in the WEC, and WRC championships, and Michelin is the current motorcycle tyre sponsor in MotoGP (2025).
