Directions to McConechy’s Greenock
Take Greenock Road from Port Glasgow to drive along the waterfront, or come in from the west via the A78.
Both roads meet at the Bullring; a large roundabout with a car park in the middle. From there, take Dalrymple Street a short distance west to get to McConechy’s Tyres in Greenock.
There are lots of things to do within walking distance; however, you can also catch a bus or train to the best attractions. For public transport routes, see the bottom of the page.
What’s nearby?
The shore is the leading local attraction. Walk south to Open Shore for leisure facilities including Waterfront Cinema and the Waterfront Leisure Complex.
To the north is the Esplanade, which is a little quieter. It’s the perfect spot to walk by the water and take in spectacular views of the Firth of Clyde.
For even more amazing viewpoints, head up nearby Lyle Hill to the highest point at Craig’s Top — an altitude of 130m above sea level.
Public transport
By rail, Greenock Central Station is less than a mile away. From the station, head to the main road, which is Dalrymple Street. Follow it west past the shops, and you’ll reach McConechy’s Greenock in minutes.
The Hood Street bus stop on Dalrymple Street is right outside McConechy’s Tyres, and is served regularly by routes including the 507, 547 and 802.
