Directions to McConechy’s Elgin
The A96 connects Aberdeen to Inverness and can be followed from either direction to reach McConechy’s Tyres in Elgin.
Stay on the A96 until you reach Linkwood Way — just east of Elgin town centre. Follow the signs for Linkwood Industrial Estate, and you’ll see McConechy’s Tyres opposite the entrance to McDonald’s.
Both Aberdeen and Inverness also have direct rail routes to Elgin — full details of these and local bus routes are further down.
What’s nearby?
There is some stunning local scenery to admire while getting tyres changed in Elgin. The River Lossie flows behind McConechy’s Autocentre, and there are several places nearby to go fishing on the river.
If you like historic buildings, there are some worth seeing in the area. Elgin Cathedral dates back to 1224, and its ruins stand between the river and Cooper Park.
Just north of Elgin is Spynie Palace, built in the 14th century. Drive via the A941 to see the Palace’s stunning Great Hall and 72-foot tower.
Public transport
Elgin Railway Station is just a mile west of McConechy’s Tyres. It runs services from Inverness and Aberdeen, making it even easier to get to our garage.
To reach by bus, alight at the Reiket Lane stop in either direction on East Road. Services including 10, 33A, 33C, 35 and 38 all take East Road.
We’re also just a couple of minutes’ walk from the bus stop via Linkwood Way.
