Unrivalled power accuracy

Ongoing research into Elite's unique OTS (Optical Torque Sensor) technology has improved precision to the point where Elite have had the Direto-X independently certified to a class-leading +/- 1.5% power accuracy.

High-performance

Every aspect of the Direto is built for performance

The Direto's FE-C controlled, magnetic power unit has been upgraded and with a maximum output of 3,250 Watts at 60 KM/H, it can now accurately replicate inclines of up to 18%, meaning it can handle the steepest slopes of Wattopia.

A large gearing wheel also increases the flywheels RPMs, generating a smoother, more realistic ride. In addition, the body of the trainer has been tweaked to make it compatible with the bulkier rear derailleurs often used with 1 x drivetrains.

Interactive

Connect wirelessly via Bluetooth or ANT+ to training apps on your smartphone, tablet or PC. You will then benefit from detailed performance monitoring and automatic resistance adjustment.

Also included with the device is a free 12-month subscription to Elite's My E-training App for Windows, iOS and Android.

FAQs

Although there’s no hard and fast rule for how long an indoor training session should last, we would generally advise that anything up to two hours is the limit.

This is because you work harder on a turbo trainer than when riding outdoors, as there are no downhill sections to recover. Instead you’re putting effort in the whole time. Plus, your riding position is more rigid when on a turbo trainer, meaning you’re working the same muscle groups for extended periods of time.

It is more important to create shorter, high-quality training sessions than longer ones. When it comes to turbo trainers, it’s a matter of quality over quantity.

The key to improving your average speed on an indoor bike is creating an effective training plan. Make sure that each session is high quality, as you want to avoid the indoor training equivalent of ‘junk miles’, where you’re training sessions are ineffective and don’t lead to improvements.
There are plenty of apps and pre-designed sessions you can use to ensure you’re maximising your training. Once training to a plan, you’ll gradually see your average speed increase.
