Terms and Conditions
These are the Terms and Conditions of Sale for Halfords to which the purchases of all goods and services in-store or via our Website and telephone are subject.
Please read these Conditions and the documents linked to these Conditions carefully. You will need to agree to these Conditions before we will accept your Order.

Definitions
- In these Conditions, the following definitions shall apply:
- Conditions: the terms and conditions set out in this document as amended from time to time in accordance with clause 15.
- Contract: the contract between Halfords and the Customer for the sale and purchase of the Goods and/or Services in accordance with these Conditions.
- Customer, you, your: the person who purchases the Goods and/or Services from us, subject to the restrictions set out in clause 5.
- Event Outside Our Control: has the meaning given in clause 14.1.
- Goods: the goods (or any part of them) set out in the Order.
- Halfords, we, us, our: means, as applicable, either Halfords Limited (company number 00103161) or, in respect of Halfords Garage services, Halfords Autocentres Limited (company number 04050548) both of Icknield Street Drive, Washford West, Redditch, Worcestershire B98 0DE.
- Order: the Customer's order for the Goods and/or Services submitted via telephone or the Website.
- Purchases: means the Goods bought in-store by Customers.
- Services: the services (or any part of them) set out in the Order.
- Website: means Halfords.com or the Halfords App.
- In these Conditions, the following rules apply:
- Any phrase introduced by the terms including, include, in particular or any similar expression shall be construed as illustrative and shall not limit the sense of the words preceding those terms.
- A reference to writing or written includes e-mails.
- In these Conditions, the following definitions shall apply:
The Contract
- You can make Purchases instore and place Orders via telephone or our Website.
- Orders placed via telephone or the Website constitutes an offer to purchase the Goods and/or Services in accordance with these Conditions. Please check your Order before placing it, as you are responsible for ensuring that the terms of the Order are correct. You may only purchase Goods or Services from us if you meet any legal age requirement necessary for purchase of the same.
- If you wish to place an Order via telephone:
- you will need to call us on the contact number provided in clause 11.1(a) below specifying the Goods and/or Services which you require and confirm that you agree to these Conditions; and
- following the telephone call, we will email you to confirm acceptance of your Order at which point a Contract will be formed. The order confirmation email will include (as applicable): (i) your order number and personal details (ii) the price of the Goods and/or Services, (iii) estimated delivery date of the Goods, (iv) the commencement date of any Services as agreed on the call and (v) will attach these Conditions.
- If you wish to place an Order via the Website:
- you will need to select the Goods and/or Services you require and complete and submit the order form ("Order Form"). You submit the Order Form by clicking on the 'place order' button;
- your Order will be accepted when we email you to confirm acceptance of your Order, at which point a Contract will be formed. The order confirmation email will include: (i) your order number and personal details, (ii) the price of the Goods and/or Services, (iii) the estimated delivery date of the Goods, (iv) the commencement date of any Services and (v) will attach these Conditions.
- If you wish to make a Purchase please visit our retail stores.
- All Purchases and Orders placed via the Website or telephone are subject to stock, store or garage availability. In the unlikely event that you are either able to place an Order for an item that is not available, or if it is necessary for Halfords to amend or cancel your Order, we will contact you as soon as possible to discuss either amending or cancelling your Order. If your Order is cancelled by Halfords, you will be refunded in full.
- We only accept Orders originating from and for delivery to UK addresses.
- Garage services are only valid for the vehicle booked at the time of the Order and cannot be transferred to an alternative vehicle. Please note that in order to provide an efficient service and to alleviate high volume demand we may, at times, use carefully selected DVSA approved test stations to carry out certain Services. This does not affect your statutory rights and your Contract is still with Halfords.
- We will retain details of your Order in our database and these details can be made available to you on request from our customer services team.
- You will be notified on your order confirmation which Halfords company you have contracted with. This will depend on what Goods and/or Services you have ordered or purchased and how you have elected to receive those Goods and/or Services.
Product Information
- Goods and Services are as described on the Website. We reserve the right to amend the description at any time if required.
- Images of the Goods on the Website are for illustrative purposes only. Representations of colour online are as accurate as our photographic and electronic processes will allow. Please note that colour online can also be affected by the calibrations of different output devices.
- All weights and sizes are supplied as a guide only and are approximate.
- Guided sales, buyers guides and all other advice articles have been produced by Halfords to help you in your purchasing decisions and to give guidance. These articles are provided for general information, but if you are in any doubt, you should seek help from an appropriate professional before purchasing Goods and/or Services. We accept no liability for any loss, damage or injury arising as a result of the advice contained on the Website.
- In the event that there are any errors regarding the price or description of Goods or Services, we reserve the right to correct that price or description and notify you accordingly. In these circumstances, it will be deemed that a Contract has not been entered into and you will not be bound to continue with your purchase. We will cancel your Order and you will be refunded in full. The repayment of such monies paid to us will be the extent of our liability to you in the event of these errors.
Price Information
- Except as set out below, the price of the Goods and Services is the price set out on the Website or confirmed by us via telephone at the time you submit your Order. All prices are in Pounds Sterling.
- The price of the Goods does not include delivery charges which will be as advised during the check-out process if you submit your Order via our Website, or confirmed by us via telephone if you submit your Order via telephone, before you confirm your Order.
- Due to the nature of certain Services there may be additional costs if additional work has been undertaken on a vehicle (for example, during a MOT) which must be paid upon collection of the vehicle. We will never carry out any additional work on a vehicle without your prior consent.
- The price of the Goods and Services is inclusive of VAT (where applicable) at the current rate chargeable in the UK. If the rate of VAT changes between the date of Order and the date of delivery, we will adjust the VAT you pay unless you have already paid for the Goods or Services in full before the change in VAT. Halfords VAT number is 797 0776 69.
- The prices shown on our Website are only applicable to purchases made via the Website. On occasions, the prices payable and promotions offered via the Website or telephone may differ from those prices and promotions offered at the same time in Halfords stores or garages. Some Service prices may vary based on geographical location.
- Where the Website price is lower than our store or garage price you may be eligible to make a price match claim. For more information about Halfords price match promise please see our page.
- Special offers and promotions advertised in the press or other media may not apply to Purchases or Orders placed via the Website or telephone unless specifically stated. All offers are subject to availability and while stocks last. This includes all offers advertised via official Halfords social media channels.
- Offers cannot be used in conjunction with one another. Where more than one offer is available on the same product only one discount will apply. The offer giving the greatest saving will be applied. Equally, voucher code offers cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotional offer. Proof of memberships allowing for discounts may be required. Offers can only be redeemed at the time of payment.
Age Restricted Items
Customers must be aged 18 or over to purchase Goods through the Website. Certain products (such as knives and flammable liquids) can only be purchased if a Customer satisfies the legal age requirements. We are not permitted by law to supply these Goods to a Customer who does not satisfy the legal age requirements. If you are underage please do not attempt to order or purchase age restricted Goods. By ordering and/or purchasing the Goods you confirm that you satisfy the legal age requirements for those Goods. We reserve the right to request ID for purchases and collection of age restricted Goods and not to supply any age restricted Goods where we reasonably believe that a Customer is below the required legal age for those Goods.Purchase Restrictions
Customers will be limited in relation to the number of large Goods which may be purchased from Halfords during a twelve (12) month period. Large Goods include but are not limited to tool kits and tool boxes. In the event a Customer would like to purchase more than two (2) of the same large Goods in a twelve (12) month period, they should contact Halfords for Business.Payment Information
- Halfords accepts payment by PayPal, Klarna, Apple Pay Google Pay, Clearpay, Payment Assist, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, through some employers’ cycle to work schemes, and most major credit or debit cards where registered to UK addresses. We are unable to accept any other form of payment. For more information about payment methods, click here.
- Your credit card or debit card will be charged when the Goods are purchased instore or when despatched or on submission of your Order for Services.
- Halfords is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority for certain financial service activities. Our Firm Reference number is 724263 and can be checked at https://register.fca.org.uk/
Delivery of Goods
- For details about how we deliver Goods, delivery charges, geographical restrictions and lead times click here.
- If your Order is for multiple Goods, each Good forms a separate Contract and may be delivered by instalments. Any delay in delivery of one instalment shall not entitle you to cancel any other instalment.
- Any dates quoted for delivery are approximate only and we cannot be held liable for any costs incurred if delivery is delayed. Please be aware that Royal Mail First Class postal service can take up to seven (7) days. This is under the terms of Royal Mail and is out of our control. Third party couriers can deliver direct delivery orders between the hours of 7am and 9pm.
- Delivery of an Order shall be completed when we deliver the Goods to the delivery address given in the Order. Each Customer will only be permitted to provide two addresses for deliveries to be made, Halfords reserves the right to cancel or not accept orders which are made for any delivery at any additional addresses.
- The Goods will be your responsibility from the time of delivery.
- Where the courier is unable to deliver the Goods, they will either attempt to deliver to a neighbour, attempt to redeliver the following day, leave a card for you to rearrange a suitable time for redelivery or leave the parcel at your local Post Office for you to collect.
- We shall have no liability for any delay in delivery of the Goods, or failure to deliver the Goods, where the delay or failure is caused either by an Event Outside Our Control or your failure to provide us with adequate delivery instructions or any other instructions that are relevant to the supply of the Goods.
- If we miss our estimated delivery deadline for the Goods or, in the absence of any estimate being given, we have not delivered the Goods within thirty (30) days of the date of the order confirmation email, you may cancel your Order and receive a full refund. You can do so for just some of the Goods or all of them unless Halfords notifies you that splitting them up would significantly reduce their value.
Vehicle Service
- If you book or use a vehicle service at Halfords retail stores for a WeFit fitting or at Halfords Autocentres, you must:
- switch off your dash camera when you drop off your vehicle. If you do not switch off your dash camera, we will switch it off before servicing your vehicle. When you collect your vehicle, you will be responsible for switching on the dash camera; and
- make sure all personal and valuable items are removed from your vehicle when you drop off your vehicle. We are not responsible for any loss, theft or damage to any personal or valuable items left in the vehicle.
- Where you book or make use of our same day fitting service(s) an order must be placed at least one (1) hour before the relevant store or garage you are booking the fitting to be conducted closes. Only once confirmation has been received by you following the purchase of the particular Goods and/or Services will this service be able to be performed. A charge may be applicable for this service, which will be detailed during the checkout process.
- If you book or use a vehicle service at Halfords retail stores for a WeFit fitting or at Halfords Autocentres, you must:
Cancellations, Refunds and Returns
- Subject to the remainder of this clause 9, if you change your mind, you have the right to cancel your Order within the applicable time period set out at clause 10.3. Alternatively, in relation to Goods, you are entitled to request an exchange within the same period of time, if the new item is at a higher price, you will be required to pay the additional amount, however, if the new item is at a lower price we will arrange a refund for the difference.
- The cancellation right set out in clause 10.1 above does not apply in the case of the following Goods, which may only be returned if they are faulty:
- personalised and made-to-order products;
- sealed satellite navigation equipment, sealed memory cards, sealed audio or video recordings or sealed computer software which have been unsealed after you receive them; or
- any Goods which become mixed inseparably with other items after their delivery.
- Your legal right to cancel a Contract starts from the date of the order confirmation email (the date on which we e-mail you to confirm our acceptance of your Order), which is when the Contract between us is formed. Your deadline for cancelling the Contract then depends on what you have ordered and how it is delivered, as set out in the table below:
Your Contract
End of the cancellation period
Your Contract is for Goods which are not delivered in instalments on separate days.
The end date is the end of twenty-eight (28) days after the day on which you receive the Goods. Example: if we provide you with an order confirmation email on 1 January and you receive the Goods on 10 January you may cancel at any time between 1 January and the end of the day on 7 February.
Your Contract is for Goods which are delivered in instalments on separate days.
The end date is twenty-eight (28) days after the day on which you receive the last instalment of the Goods or the last of the separate Goods ordered.
Example: if we provide you with an order confirmation email on 1 January and you receive the first instalment of your Goods on 10 January and the last instalment or last separate item of your Goods on 15 January you may cancel in respect of all instalments and any or all of the separate Goods at any time between 1 January and the end of the day on 12 February.
Your Contract is for the regular delivery of Goods over a set period.
The end date is twenty-eight (28) days after the day on which you receive the first delivery of the Goods.
Example: if we provide you with an order confirmation email on 1 January in respect of Goods to be delivered at regular intervals over a year and you receive the first delivery of your Goods on 10 January, you may cancel at any time between 1 January and the end of the day on 7 February. 7 February is the last day of the cancellation period in respect of all Goods to arrive during the year.
Your Contract is for Services
The end date is the end of fourteen (14) days after the day on which the Contract is entered into.
- If you need to amend a booking for garage Services, you may contact Halfords Garages up to one working day before your appointment date to re-schedule. Changes to the appointment date or time made less than one working day in advance of your appointment will be subject to a £10 late amendment fee which will be added on to your invoice.
- We will wait to carry out the Services until the fourteen (14) day cancellation period is over unless you request that we start providing the Services within the cancellation period. If we begin the Services before the end of the fourteen (14) day cancellation period and then you choose to cancel, you will be required to pay a charge to compensate us for Services already performed.
- To cancel a Contract, you need to let us know that you have decided to cancel within the applicable cancellation period as set out at clause 10.3 . If you wish to exercise this right, please contact the Halfords Customer Services Team, by phone on 0330 135 9779, or letter sent by post to Halfords Limited Customer Services, Icknield Street Drive, Washford West, Redditch, Worcestershire, B98 0DE or using the online form below. If you cancel using the online form on our Website, we will acknowledge receipt of such a cancellation by email promptly. You may use the model cancellation form at clause 9.13 below. If you send us your cancellation notice by e-mail or by post, then your cancellation is effective from the date you send us the e-mail or post the letter to us. If you cancel your Contract via telephone, then your cancellation is effective from the date of the received telephone call.
- If you cancel your Contract, Halfords will:
- subject to clauses, 10.2, 10.3 and 10.7, refund you the price you paid for the Order. If your Order relates to the purchase of Goods, please note we are permitted by law to reduce your refund to reflect any reduction in the value of the Goods, if this has been caused by your handling them in a way which would not be permitted in a shop. If we refund you the price paid before we are able to inspect the Goods and later discover you have handled them in an unacceptable way, you must pay us an appropriate amount;
- refund any delivery costs you have paid; and
- make any refunds due to you as soon as possible and in any event within the deadlines indicated below:
- if you have received the Goods and we have not offered to collect it from you: fourteen (14) days after the day on which we receive the Goods back from you or, if earlier, the day on which you provide us with evidence that you have sent the Goods back to us; if you have not received the Goods or you have received it and we have offered to collect it from you: fourteen (14) days after you inform us of your decision to cancel the Contract;
- in relation to cancellation of Services: fourteen (14) days after you inform us of your decision to cancel the Contract.
- If you have returned the Goods to us under this clause 10 because they are faulty or mis-described, we will refund the price of the Goods in full, together with any applicable delivery charges.
- We will refund you on the credit card or debit card used by you to pay, unless you have expressly agreed otherwise. You will not incur any fees as a result of the reimbursement. If you used vouchers to pay for the Goods we may refund you in vouchers.
- If Goods have been delivered to you before you decide to cancel your Contract:
- then you must return it to us without undue delay and in any event not later than fourteen (14) days after the day on which you let us know that you wish to cancel the Contract in accordance with our returns policy which can be found here. You can either send it back via post (and we recommend using a trackable service and obtaining proof of postage), return it to us in-store or hand it to our authorised carrier. You must take reasonable care to ensure that the Goods are securely packaged.
- unless the Goods are faulty or not as described (in this case, see clause 10.8), you will be responsible for the cost of returning the Goods to us. If the Goods cannot be returned by post, we may offer to collect the Goods from you in which case we will charge you the direct cost of the collection, which we will notify you of before this is arranged. The cost of collection will vary depending on location and size of the Goods to be returned.
- Because you are a consumer, we are under a legal duty to supply Goods and Services that are in conformity with this Contract. As a consumer, you have legal rights in relation to Goods and Services that are faulty or not as described. If your Order relates to Goods, consumer law states that the Goods must be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. During the expected lifespan of the Good, your legal rights entitle you to the following:
- Up to thirty (30) days: if your Goods are faulty, then you can get a full refund.
- Up to six months: if your Goods were faulty when received and cannot be repaired or replaced, then you're entitled to a full refund, in most cases, but this is dependent on the use.
- Up to six years: if your Goods do not last a reasonable length of time you may be entitled to some money back.
- If your Purchase or Order relates to Services, consumer law states that you can ask us to repeat or fix a service if it is not carried out with reasonable care and skill, or get some money back if we cannot fix it. If a time has not been agreed upfront, the services must be performed within a reasonable time.
- These legal rights are not affected by your right of return and refund in this clause 10 or anything else in these Conditions. Advice about your legal rights is available from your local Citizens' Advice Bureau or Trading Standards office.Due to the speed of our ordering process, Halfords may not be able to cancel your order before dispatch. If you exercise your right to cancel prior to you receiving the Goods, Halfords will attempt to stop the goods in transit, however if this is not possible and the Goods are delivered, you will be able to return your Goods in line with your rights outlined above.

After-sales Service and Guarantees
- Where applicable, details of manufacturers' guarantees or service arrangements will be provided with the Goods or Services. Your local Halfords store or garage will deal with after sales service and warranty/ guarantee claims (excluding refunds. For refunds please see our returns policy).
- Except where expressly stated otherwise, all warranties are non-transferable and only apply for the original customer. Please note that, if you buy Goods with a Halfords warranty, we are guaranteeing that those Goods will work during the warranty period. If you replace the Goods during the warranty period, the warranty does not start again. You will only benefit from the remaining period of the original warranty. This does not affect your statutory rights if the Goods are faulty or not as described.

- The content of the Website is protected by copyright, trade marks, database and other intellectual property rights. - Halfords does not permit the re-sale of its Goods.

Safe Shopping Guarantee
- We have used every effort to ensure that shopping on the internet with Halfords is as safe as purchasing by card in a regular Halfords store. Our secure server software encrypts all of your personal information sent over the Internet. In processing your Order, your information may have to be sent over the internet more than once. At no point is your Order information sent in this way without encryption.
- Although Halfords endeavour to take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the complete security of any data you disclose via the Website. You accept the inherent security risks of providing personal information and dealing via the Website over the Internet and Halfords cannot be held responsible for any breach of security unless it is due to our negligence. Liability
- If we fail to comply with these Conditions, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Conditions or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence of our breach or if it was contemplated by you and us at the time we entered into this Contract.
- Subject to clause 15.3, we only supply the Goods and Services for domestic and private use. You agree not to use the Goods for any commercial, business or resale purposes, and if you do we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.
- Certain bicycles are suitable for commercial use. Please review the bicycle specification to check if the bicycle is suitable for commercial use. If you wish to purchase a bicycle for commercial use, you must not purchase the bicycle via our Website. If you purchase a bicycle suitable for commercial use and use the bicycle for business purposes, we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity arising from our failure to comply with these Conditions.
- We do not in any way exclude or limit our liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by our negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- any breach of the terms implied by section 9 to 11, or 17 of the Consumer Rights Act 2015; and
- defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
- You may have other rights granted by law and these Conditions do not affect these.
Events Outside Our Control
- We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations under a Contract that is caused by an Event Outside Our Control. We will do what we can to reduce the delay. An Event Outside Our Control means any act or event beyond our reasonable control, including without limitation strikes, lock-outs or other industrial action by third parties, civil commotion, riot, invasion, terrorist attack or threat of terrorist attack, war (whether declared or not) or threat or preparation for war, fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster, or failure of public or private telecommunications networks or impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport.
- If the delay is likely to be substantial, you can contact our customer service team via the contact details set out at clause 8.6 to cancel the Contract and receive a refund for any Goods and Services you have paid for, but not received.
Variation
- Halfords amends these Conditions from time to time. Each time you order Goods or Services from us, the Conditions in force at the time of your Order apply to the Contract between you and us.
- We may update, vary and amend these Conditions from time to time without prior notice. Each time you make a Purchase or an Order from us, the Conditions in force at that time will apply (as set out on the Website). Please check on the Website to ensure you understand the Conditions that apply.
Other Important Terms
- We may transfer our rights and obligations under a Contract to another organisation, but this will not affect your rights or our obligations under these Conditions.
- You may only transfer your rights or your obligations under these Conditions to another person if we agree in writing.
- This Contract is between you and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms.
- Each of the paragraphs of these Conditions operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect.
- These Terms are governed by English law. This means a Contract for the purchase of Goods and Services through our Website and via telephone and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it will be governed by English law. You can bring claims against us in the English courts. However, if you are a resident of Northern Ireland you may bring proceedings in Northern Ireland, and if you are a resident of Scotland, you may bring proceedings in Scotland.
