Alloy wheel keys or locking nuts
Locking wheel nuts protect alloy wheels from being stolen. As part of every Halfords car service, our technicians will need to remove your wheels to inspect the condition of your steering and suspension systems.
An empty boot
Our technicians will need to inspect the condition and tread depth of your spare tyre, which is usually located inside or under the boot of the car.
Make it easy for our technicians and empty your boot of luggage and other heavy items before you arrive at your chosen Halfords Autocentre.
Your service book
A stamp in your service book is important, especially if you ever want to sell the car. Cars with a full-service history sell for more.
When they work on your car, our technicians will need to see when you last had certain items replaced, such as spark plugs, brake fluid and cabin filters. All this information (and more) is stored in your service book.
Please bring it with you on the day. You can leave it on the seat with the locking wheel nut. Once your car service is completed, you'll receive a stamp in your service book.
MOT certificate (or current valid MOT)
Your car will need a valid MOT certificate, as every service includes a short road test.
Without a valid MOT, we can't complete any work on your car. The easiest way to ensure your car is safe for the roads is to book a joint MOT and service from Halfords. In a year’s time, when you need a new MOT, we’ll send you a reminder.
