It features a Hyena/Kynamic rear hub motor, delivering 40Nm of torque and a 252Wh battery neatly integrated into the frame. This design offers a clean and discreet aesthetic.
The 8.9 is equipped with three levels of power assist, enabling you to balance your own effort with the support of the motor.

Built from durable 6061 aluminium and high-quality componentry from trusted brands, the ADV-E 8.9 delivers the utmost enjoyment on every ride. The 8.9 is fitted with Shimano's dedicated gravel-specific GRX series groupset. A GRX 11-speed drivetrain that benefits from adventure-specific ergonomics and optimised gearing.
The 1x11 setup with 11-42 tooth cassette at the rear offer ample gear choices, allowing you to maintain power and speed on the flat while keeping cadence high on climbs.
The frame also has mounts for mudguards and a rack, so you can easily add a pannier for extra storage.
Wheels & Tyres
The ADV-E 8.9 comes equipped with Goodyear 40mm gravel-specific Connector tyres, universally recognised for their exceptional performance and durability.
The Connector has a versatile tread pattern featuring tightly spaced centre knobs combined with aggressive side knobs. This combination offers the perfect balance of grip and speed, especially in loose conditions, making it the ideal choice for adventure and gravel riding.
Range
All electric bikes specify a maximum mileage range achievable on a single battery charge. This represents the furthest distance under optimal conditions; however, several factors can influence this range:
- The combined weight of the rider and any luggage.
- The assistance mode selected.
- The cycling route (e.g. type of terrain and inclines).
- Temperature and climate (e.g. cold weather will decrease the performance of the battery).
- Tyre pressure.
- Wind speed and direction.
