With Loch Ryan to the north, Stranraer has plenty of scenic views to enjoy, so why not set out on foot once you've safely deposited your car in the hands of our engineers?

Directions to McConechy's Stranraer
Stranraer sits at the meeting of several major roads, including the A77 along the eastern shore of Loch Ryan, the A718 on the western shore, the A75 east towards Dumfries and beyond to Gretna, and several smaller roads from the south.
We are located just south of the main town centre. You can follow the A77 Dalrymple Street south to Commerce Road, or take the turn off of the A75 signposted for Blackparks Industrial Estate to approach McConechy's Tyres Stranraer from the top end of Commerce Road.
What's nearby?
The open waters of Loch Ryan are the big attraction for many visitors to Stranraer, with the Harbour and Marina just across from Stranraer Museum.
Agnew Park is a pretty and well-kept park with its own miniature lake to walk around, if you don't fancy heading down to the shores of the loch.
Or pick up a tourist information leaflet and follow the Stranraer Town Trail: The Castle and the Chapel of St John for an enjoyable route around some local landmarks.
Public transport
Commerce Road is served by the Dalrymple Street bus routes including services 367, 407 and 411. Look for the stops on both sides of the road just north of the Commerce Road roundabout.
Arriving into Stranraer Station by rail is quite an experience too, as the tracks seem to continue as far as they possibly can before reaching Loch Ryan's edge. From the station, head south across the town centre to join Dalrymple Street, where you can hop on a bus for the short last leg.
