Directions to McConechy's Thurso
The A9 starts from Scrabster to the north of Thurso and runs south to Inverness, Perth and on to Stirling, creating an easily accessible road connection that can be reached from both Glasgow and Edinburgh too.
As the A9 nears the northernmost tip of Scotland, it turns left to cross the River Thurso and pass through the town, and this is where you'll find McConechy's Thurso Autocentre.
You can turn on to our parking directly from the road, drop off your car and then head back out on foot to see the local attractions.
What's nearby?
Directly opposite McConechy's Thurso Autocentre is Sir George's Park, a collection of open-air playing fields, some equipped with floodlights, which is home to the local football club.
At the near end, facing McConechy's Tyres, is the Toll Gallery, where you can pick up an artistic memento of your day trip to Thurso.
Or moments away to the south along Millbank Road there is Thurso Squash, Tennis and Racketball Club, so you don't have far to go if you want to add some sporty activity to your day.
Public transport
Thurso Railway Station is just across the river in the town centre. On foot you can take Lovers Lane to reach the pedestrian footbridge opposite Thurso Swimming Pool and Caithness Rugby Club.
